STORY BEHIND THE MACHINE
1969 Pontiac Firebird
Example Story · Pennsylvania
“The Firebird was my father's dream car. We started building it together, and finishing it became a way to stay connected to him.”
MOTORS · REGULATION · IDENTITY
Motors & Mental Health recognizes the garage, the drive, and the machine as legitimate spaces for grounding, identity, discipline, and growth.

Many people learned emotional regulation, identity, patience, and discipline outside of therapy — in garages, driveways, track days, late-night wrenching, and long solo drives.
THE MMH FRAMEWORK
Focused work, movement, sound, routine, and the road can create space to settle and reset.
Machines teach patience, consequences, repetition, troubleshooting, and respect for the process.
What we build can carry memory, family, accomplishment, grief, recovery, and pieces of who we are becoming.
